Usage options for unopened roads

Council requested a report on the usage options for some unopened roads.

Simple brainstorming says that the options are:

  1. Leave the road unopened but available for public use
  2. Restrict the road in some way (‘foot traffic only’ or ‘no vehicles allowed’ etc)
  3. Restrict the road to any usage
  4. Close the road and give/sell to adjoining property owners

However, the million dollar question is which of these options are legal under the Municipal Act?

All option are legal. The big question should be is there infratructure in the ground or future need of infrastuture? If so you will want to keep these right of ways. For selling it can be done. I would recomend consulting with a planner on required steps to follow
